AT&T launches gigabit service in Orlando

If you’re looking for super-fast Internet speed, you’re in luck as AT&T Inc.on Sept. 28 launched its gigabit service in Orlando.

The Dallas-based communications company’s (NYSE: T) ultra-fast Internet service U-Verse with AT&T GigaPower is now available to residents and small business customers in parts of Orlando and Orange County. AT&T announced Sept. 14 that it was expanding the service to Orlando, but at the time hadn’t yet revealed a launch date.

Prices for the service, which offers Internet speeds up to 1 gigabit per second, start at $110 a month. Customers with the service can download 25 songs in less than a second, a TV show in three seconds or an HD movie in less than 36 seconds, according to AT&T.
